Dirty Dog Trail Run

10K run, 5K run, 5K walk, 1 mile walk - August 26, 2017 Participants without dogs at 9:00 am followed by the others between 9:05 at 9:15 am.



Purpose:

Judy V. Spencer Fund  via Shelterhouse to provide funding to ensure victims of domestic violence can provide a safe haven for their pets.

SOS Animal Rescue to provide funding for animals in need through their foster, pet food, and spay/neuter assistance programs.  

Location: Midland City Forest 2840 E. Monroe Rd Midland, MI 48641

Race:  The 9th annual Dirty Dog Trail Run is for runners of all skill levels to run with or without their dogs.  The course is a combination of unpaved two-track and single track trails that twist and turn over flat land and hills in the scenic woods of Midland City Forest.  City Forest is a 520 acre preserve of woods, creeks, marshes, and bridges, making for an enjoyable and challenging off-road run.

Not interested in running on hills and single track trails?  Join the 1 mile walk over a flat, unpaved course through the woods.


Registration: Runners are encouraged to pre-register before August 9th to avoid late fees. Same day registration is available from 8:00 to 8:45 am.  Pre-registration has the option to purchase a Dry Fit shirt for $5. Shirts are not guaranteed for late and same day registrations.  Shirts are men's sizes.  Youth shirts are available for order as well.


Awards: 
10K run and 
5K Run - Medals to top 3 finishers in men's overall, women's overall, 13 & under boys, and 13 & under girls.  Separate medals for racing with and without dogs.

5K walk - Medals to top 3 finishers in men's overall, women's overall, 13 & under boys, and 13 & under girls.  Separate medals for racing with and without dogs.

All participants will receive a participation medal.  

All participants will receive race bling on race day as provided by our sponsors.

Door prizes will be awarded following the race.  Must be present to win.


Race Timing:
  
This race will be timed by Miller Race Management complete with a kiosk that lets you know your time & place as soon as you finish. 


Dogs:  Pet participation is encouraged but not required.  We ask you to be considerate of your dog's ability and limitations.  All dogs are to be kept on leashes, no exceptions.
